From January 6 to 9, 2026, the world’s top consumer electronics event, CES, was held in Las Vegas, focusing on cutting-edge AI technology. Amidst the sea of generative AI, NeuroDeep made its global debut, featuring the theme "Deciphering the Neural Language of Carbon-Based Life" to demonstrate its breakthrough in non-invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) technology.
While the exhibition floor buzzed with silicon-based digital twins, Dr. Xinglong Cui, Founder of NeuroDeep, offered a sobering perspective during his keynote at the Venetian Expo. Echoing Turing Award laureate Yann LeCun’s call for AI to evolve a "World Model," Cui argued that true intelligence must first understand its original architect.
"As silicon-based intelligence evolves at breakneck speed, carbon-based life should not remain a mere spectator," Cui stated. "We are leveraging our proprietary EEG-TransNET technology to build a mechanism that 'translates' the underlying neural language of the human brain—nature's most precise complex system."
In an exclusive interview following the product unveiling, Cui—a WIA 2021 Global Top 30 Scientist-Entrepreneur—elaborated on his vision to build the "NeuroDeep Mind OS."

From "Semantic Conversion" to "Neural Decoding"
Cui’s journey is defined by a relentless pursuit of "decoding."
Addressing industry rumors that he is a "fellow disciple" of AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li, Cui clarifies with characteristic rigor: "To be precise, we are alumni. She is a renowned predecessor I deeply respect." Yet, the intellectual influence of luminaries like Christof Koch and Jeff Hawkins remains stamped on NeuroDeep’s technological DNA.
This technical odyssey began at Google U.S. Research. Leading projects in semantic conversion, Cui realized that whether it is natural language or neural electrical signals, both are essentially information streams awaiting decryption.
In 2008, while peers flocked to Silicon Valley, Cui returned to China. "It was a simple desire to return to my roots and contribute to my country's technological rise," he reflects. But beyond patriotism lay a sharp strategic insight: China offered the ultimate "proving ground" for commercializing frontier technology.
His teams subsequently applied AI to complex scenarios in healthcare and finance, validating a core belief: computing must solve the problem of "invisible" information.
Cui views AI as undergoing a critical evolution: "Phase one was Productivity AI (efficiency); Phase two was Immersive AI (senses). But we still lack a 'Personal Intelligence' that truly understands the human."
Breaking the Definition: The Vessel and the "Mind OS"
Unlike Neuralink’s invasive approach, NeuroDeep targets non-invasive acquisition via the Ear Concha. In Cui’s vision, the earbud is merely the physical vessel; the NeuroDeep Mind OS is the soul.
The technical barrier lies in extracting microvolt-level EEG signals from the massive noise of daily life. Leveraging its proprietary EEG-TransNET model, NeuroDeep has broken through these bottlenecks, enabling high-precision monitoring outside the lab—during commuting, working, or sleeping.
"It’s not just monitoring; it’s connectivity," Cui explains. "If the earbuds detect high-pressure anxiety, they don't just play white noise. They communicate with your smart home platform to soften lights or adjust temperature. True intelligence isn't you controlling devices; it's devices reading your 'mind' to proactively serve you."
Visualizing the "Invisible" Crisis
NeuroDeep addresses the "blind spots" of modern society.
"We monitor fevers and heart rates, yet fly blind regarding depression, sleep disorders, and early signs of Alzheimer's," Cui points out.
Distinct from the episodic diagnosis of hospitals, NeuroDeep offers "continuous cognitive companionship." It maps learning curves for children, monitors emotional loads to warn of anxiety, and serves as a guardian against neurodegenerative diseases for the elderly.
The Endgame: Understanding, Not Replacing
Facing the frenzy surrounding the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) sector, Cui maintains a cool-headed restraint.
"We must be wary of bubbles. The real challenge is not how sci-fi the demo looks, but whether one can forge the 'Trifecta' of Safety, Comfort, and Value."
When asked about the ultimate form of NeuroDeep, Cui offers a definition full of warmth:
"We are building the NeuroDeep Mind OS. It exists as a 'Virtual Brain,' empowering your health ecosystem throughout your entire life cycle. It understands you and complements you, but never replaces you."
